Eagles Await Historic Game with Providence with Nationals at Stake
ANKENY, Iowa—The Faith Eagles women's soccer team is on the eve of its biggest game in school history. Saturday morning at 11:30 a.m., the Eagles will face Providence University for the right to advance to the national semifinals in Kissimmee, Florida, November 22-23.
Providence defeated Maranatha, 1-0, in overtime Friday morning to advance to the regional final against Faith. Faith defeated Maranatha, 2-0, October 26.
A win over Providence would put the women's team into the national semifinals for the first time in the 16-year history of the sport at Faith. The Eagles shattered the team record for wins this season with 12 and are currently tied with Bob Jones University in the national power rankings as the #1 team in the nation.
Faith ranks highly in a number of statistical team categories entering the regional final:
