OSKALOOSA, Iowa—The Faith women's soccer team traveled to Oskaloosa Tuesday afternoon to take on NAIA opponent William Penn University (6-8-1). It was an uphill struggle all afternoon for the Eagles as they fell, 7-0, dropping their record to 4-5 on the season.
The game was originally scheduled to be played in Ankeny, but poor field conditions forced a move to William Penn's home field. Things got off to a rough start early for the Eagles as a ball deflected off an Eagles defender into the goal in the first two minutes of action. William Penn managed two more goals in the first half, sending them to intermission with a 3-0 lead.
William Penn kept a steady stream of goals rolling through the Eagles' net in the second half, scoring four more times at consistent intervals throughout the period, rolling their way to the 7-0 win.
The Eagles have two more regular-season games remaining before regional tournament action begins on November 1. Faith finishes up on the road next week with games at Nebraska Christian on Monday, and at Maranatha Baptist on Saturday.
