Faith Eagles 2018 Women’s Soccer Schedule Released
ANKENY, Iowa--The Faith Eagles have released their 2018 fall soccer schedule for the women's soccer team.
The women's soccer team finished the 2017 season with a record of 8-4 and returns a lot of talent for the 2018 season, including All-Regional players Lyndi Shepard and Amanda Kocurek. The schedule gets a little more challenging in 2018, beginning with an exhibition matchup against Iowa Wesleyan on August 28 followed by the season opener at Crown College September 4. The first home game of the season is September 8 against Manhattan Christian College, a team Faith defeated twice last year by a combined score of 12-1. Five of the first seven games of the season are on the road.
"I'm thankful we added additional games which I hope will better prepare the team for the postseason competition," said Coach Brandon Fritz. "We have some talented freshmen attending this fall that should really improve the competitive culture on the team as well as in the overall play. I'm convinced an easy game doesn't exist on our schedule, but this tougher schedule should lead to measurable growth in our tactical game for the final push to the regular season leading into tournament play starting the first week of November."
