In what has been a record setting start to the season for the Eagle's women's soccer program, the nationally ranked Lady Eagles grabbed another convincing victory this past Tuesday over visiting Nebraska Christian College. The 7-0 win pushes the Eagles to an overall mark of 5-2-0.
Facing off against the NCCAA I opponent, the Eagles showed poised and aggressiveness as they jumped on the visitors from the start. Within the first 11 minutes, the Eagles had three goals from three different players to quickly put the game out of reach. The Eagles received goals from Lyndi Shepard, Allison Yuan, and Laura Christensen during their scoring outburst. From then on it was the Lyndi Shepard show, as the freshman would net four more goals in the game. Shepard finished with five goals on six shots and added an assist as well. Allison Yuan recorded three assists, while Deni St. Lawrence finished with one assist.
The Eagles outshot the visitors 15-7, with keeper Aubree Smith repelling all five shots on frame by the visitors. Faith will return to action on Saturday, October 7, when they will travel to Kansas to take on Manhattan Christian College. That game will take place in Topeka, KS at 3:00 PM.
