Women's Soccer Drops Heartbreaker
Final | 1 | 2 | T |

Providence University College (2-0-0, 1-0-0) | 0 | 1 | 1 |
Faith Baptist Bible College (1-3-0, 0-1-0) | 0 | 0 | 0 |
For 87 minutes, the Lady Eagles soccer team looked like they were going to pull out a draw with the defending regional champion Providence Unviersity College Pilots. It was not to be, however, as with just three minutes left, the visitor was able to loft a ball just over Eagle's keeper KD Hutchins for what would be the game winner. The loss drops Faith to 1-2-0 on the year and 0-1-0 in the region.
On a day when extreme heat took it's toll on both teams, Providence would have more chances throughout the game. Faith's defense was able to hold for most of it, as Hutchins recorded 10 saves on the day. Providence out shot Faith 17-5, but Faith nearly pulled out the draw even after Providence took the lead. Less than a minute after the Pilots put the go ahead goal into the net, the Eagles put together an attack which led to a prime chance in front of the Providence net. The Pilot keeper was up to the task, saving the shot which was taken directly at her to deny the Eagles in their final opportunity.
Faith returns to action on Tuesday, September 8, at home versus North Central University. That game is set to kick off at 2:00 PM.
