The Faith women's soccer team traveled to Lincoln, IL on Tuesday to take on NAIA opponent Lincoln Christian University. The Eagles came out putting pressure on Lincoln right from the start of the game. Rebekah Stilwell scored the first goal of the match just two minutes in, on a nice shot over the Lincoln keeper to the far right corner. The Eagles would score again just 8 minutes later as Elizabeth Hemsworth had on a 1 on 1 opportunity with the goalie, and put a nice low shot past the keeper for the 2-0 Faith lead. In the 24th minute Krista Peters would get her first goal of the season to push the lead to 3-0. Lincoln would get a goal late in the first half which made the score 3-1 in favor of the Eagles at halftime.
The second half started much the same way that the first half did as Rebekah Stilwell had her second goal of the match off a nice pass from Missy Jones. The game evened out the rest of the second half as possession was split between both teams. Lincoln would score their second goal of the game in the 80th minute. The final score was 4-2 as the Lady Eagles improved their record to 3-4 on the season.
The Lady Eagles will travel up to Minneapolis next Tuesday for a match against NCCAA II regional opponent North Central University.
