The Faith women's soccer team traveled to Rockford, IL this past Friday to take on NCAA III opponent Rockford University. The Regents came out firing shots right from the start of the game and scored just five minutes into the match. The Eagles were able to create a few chances in the first half but failed to capitalize on either of their attempts. The Regents continued to press and were able to keep position for a majority of the first half. The Regents second goal of the match came nine minutes before halftime after the Eagles were unable to clear a corner. Rockford outshot Faith 20 to 2 in the first half.
The second half was a different story as the Eagles defense had finally woken up. The Eagles allowed only two shots in the entire second half while creating a few more chances for themselves. Laura Sturgis played an excellent game in goal despite the Regents scoring 2 goals. She made 13 saves on the day. Faith outshot Rockford 5-2 in the second half.
