Peters Selected as Student Athlete of the Week
Ankeny, IA - Krista Peters, freshman forward from Faith Baptist Bible College, sparked the Faith Lady Eagle's offense during the past week enabling them to earn two wins and break their team's single season scoring record. On Friday Krista scored on a breakaway goal to give her team a halftime 1-0 edge against visiting Robert Morris College of Lake County, IL. In the second half Krista exploded for three additional goals to enable the team to cruise to a 6-0 win. Krista played with much intensity on the road on Saturday, scoring two more goals to lead the Lady Eagles to a 3-1 win against Lincoln Christian University.
For her performance, Peters has been selected as the NCCAA II Women's Soccer Offensive National Player of the Week for the week of October 8-14, 2013. Peters is currently ranked #8 in the nation in points per game, and #7 in goals per game, and is a big reason for the record setting offensive performance of this year's team. Catch Peters and the rest of the Lady Eagles in action at home on November 1st and 2nd, when they will host Presentation College on Pyche Field. Friday's game will kick off at 3:30 PM, and Saturday's game will begin at 12:00 PM
