The Lady Eagles are back on the winning track after defeating the visiting Robert Morris College team of Lake County, Illinois, by a 6 – 0 score on Friday. Faith scored only once in the first half when sophomore midfielder Emily Wiedemeier passed the ball through the defense to freshman Krista Peters who finished with a score off of the breakaway. The team then exploded with five goals in the second half of the contest to break the team's single season scoring record and cruise to their fourth win of the season. The previous record for the most goals scored in a season was 19 goals in 2005 (in 12 games). The Lady Eagles have now scored 25 goals in just nine games.
Krista Peters had a big day for Faith, as she tallied four goals. Her second goal came just 36 seconds into the second half. Junior co-captain Kirsten Passwaters also added two goals in the second half. Passwaters' first goal came at the 49 minute mark as a result of a perfect through pass from co-captain defender Roslyn Hardy. Faith outshot Robert Morris by a 39 – 2 margin, and freshman goalies Tayler Marinez, Anna Bishop, and Grace Kudlo contributed to the shutout.
The Lady Eagles' record is now 4-5 for the season with four regular season games remaining. Everyone is invited to come to the remaining games to cheer on the team as they endeavor to record a winning record for the first time in the history of Lady Eagles' soccer.
