On Saturday, August 31, the Lady Eagles met the Lady Pilots from Providence University on the pitch in Coon Rapids, Minnesota. Providence is currently rated in the top 10 in the NCCAA division 2, and they showed why they are a top team by scoring early and frequently against the Lady Eagles. "Providence has a lot of experience and athleticism this year," said Coach Mark Stupka. "They pass well and have strong ball control skills."
Three different Lady Pilots scored for Providence to give their team a 3 – 0 lead at halftime. Providence went on to score five more goals in the second half to dominate the contest. Coach Stupka noted "I believe that we learned a lot today. I'm seeing good individual efforts, yet we need to learn how to work together more effectively both defensively and offensively. We are young, yet I have a lot of confidence in our players. They won't give up, and we will improve."
The Lady Eagles will have their first home game of the season against Grace University at 2 P.M. on Tuesday, September 10th. Come out and support the Lady Eagles!
