Women's Basketball Improves to 3-2 in MCCC Games

The Eagles played FLBC on Friday, their third matchup against the Conquerors this season. in previous meetings, Faith won 72-58 (season opener) and 67-59.

Faith came out fast and all but put away the game in the first quarter, outscoring the Conquerors 20-7. The Eagles slowed down their scoring in the second quarter, allowing FLBC to stick around as the Conquerors cut their deficit to 15 heading into the final 20 minutes. The rest of the game saw an offensive barrage from both teams as the Eagles and Conquerors combined for 88 second half points but the Eagles would walk away with the decisive 85-56 victory and the season sweep over FLBC. Mikayla Jones led all scoring with a season high 28 points, adding 6 assists and 4 steals. Miriam Beenken (19 points, 10 rebounds) and Tshiya Keepers (12 points, 5 steals) had key contributions the the victory.

Saturday saw the Eagles face CCCB in an important Conference matchup as the teams faced each other for the first time this season.

The Eagles leapt onto the board 14 seconds into the game and went on a 17-6 run in the first 5 minutes to force a timeout from CCCB. Faith kept the solid lead through the next 3 quarters, and marched to 3-2 in the Conference with the 92-66 win over the Saints. Three players scored double figures for the Eagles as the team combined for 22 assists and tied their season high 22 steals.
