Monty Kaufman Announced As Women’s Basketball Coach
ANKENY, Iowa - Faith Baptist Bible College Director of Athletics Brian Fincham is pleased to announce the hiring of Monty Kaufman as the head women's basketball coach, and Monty's wife Linda, as the assistant women's basketball coach.
Coach Kaufman has served as the girl's varsity basketball coach at Wilmington Christian Academy for the past six years. During that time, Coach Monty's teams have qualified for the state tournament five times. Coach Kaufman has had the privilege of coaching several talented players including six All-Conference selections, three All-State athletes, and three 1,000 point scorers. He owns an overall coaching record of 82-74. Director of Athletics Brian Fincham says "I'm very excited to have Monty join our team. He has a heart for discipleship, a love for basketball, and a competitive spirit. I'm really looking forward to working with and learning from him!"
Monty was born in Newton, Kansas, and graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College with a bachelors in Youth Ministries. Monty was a member of the men's basketball team while he attended Northland. He and Linda met at Northland and have been married for 28 years. They have two children, Cameron and Clayton.
Monty and his wife will be moving to Ankeny from Wilmington, North Carolina. Kaufman is currently working on his Master of Arts in Christian Ministry from Liberty University.
