Rough Third Quarter Costs Lady Eagles
The Lady Eagles dropped their second game of the semester this past Friday night to Ozark Christian College 66-56. The Lady Eagles came out strong and were able to match the intensity of Ozark's players. In the first half Faith was able to capitalize on many scoring chances, as well as play pretty good defense against a talented group of players from Ozark. The scoring was very spread out for the Lady Eagles as six players scored in the first half. The score at half time was tied at 32-32.
The third quarter proved to be the downfall for the Lady Eagles as the struggled mightily on offense and were out hustled and out played by Ozark. Mistakes on both offense and defense along with poor shooting allowed Ozark to outscore the Lady Eagles 20-2.
The Lady Eagles came out and had a much better fourth quarter outscoring Ozark 22-14, but it was not enough to get them out of the hole they dug in the third quarter. Laura Garwick led the team in scoring with 15 points and added 7 rebounds. Joy Smith and Holly Shepard each added 10 points. Ashley Pearson had 8 points and 12 rebounds. Shannon Steffen had 9 points and chipped in 4 assists, and Kellie Warne had 4 points and 4 rebounds coming off the bench. The Lady Eagles will take on NCAA III opponent North Central University Tuesday evening.
