Lady Eagles Drop Conference Opener
The Lady Eagles fell to MCCC opponent Emmaus Bible College this past Tuesday night. Faith and Emmaus started the game trading baskets and playing a close game for the first five minutes of the first quarter before Emmaus went on an 11-4 run to close the quarter. Faith would struggle even more in the second quarter to make shots including some at point blank range. Faith would only shoot 6-33 from the floor in the first half. Emmaus capitalized on Faith's misses with some fast break opportunities and stretched the lead to 33-15 going into halftime.
Faith would slowly come to life in the second half offensively, but were just not able to get stops when they needed to. At one point in the second half Emmaus was able to take a 30 point lead. Faith kept playing hard though and was able to cut away at that lead in the fourth quarter, but still came up short with a final score of 72-52. Laura Garwick led the way for Faith scoring 15 points. Ashley Pearson had 12 points and 20 rebounds, and Holly Shepard chipped in 10 points as well. Faith will head to Minneapolis, MN on Saturday to take on AFLBS.
