Eagles Open Track Season at Central Invitational

The Faith Eagles track team traveled Pella, IA to compete in the Central College Invitational in their first meet of the season. The season started well as sophomore and NCCAA DII Cross-Country All-American Kevin England broke his school record in the 1,500m run by 10 seconds to take 17th place with a time of 4:22.07.
The next event the Eagles competed in was the 400m dash. Sophomore Elizabeth Hemsworth finished 8th with a time of 1:05.39, freshmen Nathan Patefield (57.48), Kyle England (58.65) and Christopher Damsgaard (1:00.23) finished 15th, 16th, and 17th.
Shortly after the 400m, Kyle England, Damsgaard, and Hemsworth competed in the 800m run. England finished in 2:25.98 and Damsgaard ran a personal best 2:27.83. Hemsworth ran a school record time by 10 seconds as she finished in 2:43.92.
Hemsworth and Patefield ran the 200m dash where Hemsworth finished 8th in 28.70 and Patfield took 20th in 25.99. All four men's team competitors then competed in the 4X400 relay where they ran 3:56.54.
The team will compete this weekend in the either the Sioux City Relays in Sioux City,IA or the Jim Duncan Invitational depending on the qualification standards for each event.
