2019 Men’s Soccer Schedule Release
Eagles' season begins with a road game against defending national champions
ANKENY, Iowa—The Faith Athletic Department has released the 2019 men's soccer schedule, which includes 18 regular-season games, a conference tournament, and the NCCAA Regional Tournament, hosted by Faith November 7-9.
The men's soccer team finished last season with a record of 7-8-3, including 4-3-2 in conference play. They won six of their first eight contests before a combination of injuries and a daunting schedule plagued them during the second half of the season.
The 2019 schedule features nine home games and nine away games. Five of the first seven contests of the year are on the road, including the season opener on August 31 against North Central University, the reigning NCCAA Division II national champions. The Eagles will play a total of four games against opponents who were ranked in the top ten at the conclusion of the 2018 season (#1 North Central, #9 Emmaus, #10 Manhattan Christian).
The first home contest for the Eagles is Saturday, September 7, against Randall University at 12:00 p.m. The Eagles finish the regular season with three of their last four games at home, including contests against rivals Emmaus on Saturday, October 19, and Maranatha the following Saturday to wrap up the regular season.
The conference tournament will be held October 31-November 2 at Emmaus Bible College in Dubuque, followed by the NCCAA Regional Tournament November 7-9 at Faith. The Eagles lost their opening-round game in the regional tournament last year to Maranatha by the score of 3-0.
