Faith took to their home field for the final time this season in a contest with Nebraska Christian College (Papillion, NE). The Eagles' offense started out somewhat slow in the first half but exploded for five goals in the second half to give themselves a 7-1 win.
Joseph Frerichs got things going for the Eagles in the 12th minute when he put Jordan Schmidt's pass in the back of the net. Faith's offense stayed quiet for the remainder of the half, until right before the break when Trent Vugteveen scored his first goal of the year with Joseph Frerichs assisting. The Eagles entered the halftime break holding to a 2-0 lead.
Oleg Orlov started out the second half with back-to-back goals, extending Faith's lead to 4-0. Joseph Frerichs would go on to score 2 more goals in the contest to earn the hat trick in the game. Ryan Hughes also got involved in the scoring action off an assist from Trent Vugteveen. Nebraska Christian's one goal came in the 80th minute after a collapse in the Eagle's defense. The 7-1 victory gives Faith an overall 7-4-1 record with just one regular season game left.
The game gave an opportunity for many players off the bench to log good minutes. The Eagle's dominated the offensive possessions, out-shooting Nebraska Christian 35-7.
Faith will travel to Overland Park, KS on Friday for their final game of the regular season in what will be a re-match with #1 ranked Kansas Christian College.
