The Eagles faced their toughest opponent yet on Friday in #1 nationally-ranked Kansas Christian College (Overland Park, KS). Faith trailed by only one goal through 74 minutes, but Kansas Christian added on three late goals to win 4-0.
Despite an early goal by Kansas Christian in the sixth minute, Faith came out ready to play and matched Kansas Christian's intensity for the majority of the contest. Faith held its own for the rest of the half and entered the break only trailing the Falcons 0-1.
The Eagles created more offensive looks in the second half but couldn't get past Kansas Christian's lockdown defense. Goalie Jason Scheps had his work cut out for him in this one. Kansas Christian unloaded 25 shots, 19 of which were on goal, but Jason made several difficult saves throughout to keep hopes alive for the Eagles.
In the 74th minute, things began to swing more in the Falcon's favor, as Pedro Alvarez earned his second goal of the game. Alvarez added two more goals before time expired, accounting for all four goals in the 4-0 win for Kansas Christian. The Eagles are now 6-4-1 for the season.
The Eagles look to bounce back on Tuesday, October 17, in their final home game against Nebraska Christian College (Papillion, NE).
