Men Bounce Back Against Barclay
October 10, 2017
The Faith Eagles hit the road for just the second time this season. After being on the bitter end of a rough game Tuesday, the Eagles were looking to bounce back against Barclay and also avenge a regular season loss from last season.
Faith started the game out a little sluggish, as Barclay came out with a lot of energy, but managed to escape the first five minutes without conceding a goal. As the Eagles picked up their energy, Oleg Orlov got things started with a goal just 9 minutes into the game, and from there the Eagles were rolling. About 10 minutes later Oleg netted his second goal off an assist from Jordan Schmidt, and the half ended 2-0 in favor of the Eagles.
Just 5 minutes into the second half, Oleg completed the hat trick off an assist from Andrew Baldwin. With the Eagles dominating possession and having dangerous opportunities, Barclay's defense was constantly on their heels and gave up a penalty kick, which Joseph Frerichs buried in the back of the net for the 4-0 lead. With 14 minutes left and the game well in hand, Andrew Baldwin added a beautiful insurance goal from about 10 yards outside the box off an assist from Caleb Acree.

"It was a great team effort all across the board," noted Coach Jordan Sauser. "Our starters got us back on track, playing with good intensity and spacing, creating several dangerous attacks, and our subs gave us valuable minutes off the bench, brining great energy and effort."
The win moved the Eagles to 6-2-1. They would then travel on to Topeka, KS to face off with #9 ranked Manhattan Christian College in another conference matchup on Saturday.
