The Faith men's team earned the #2 seed in the Regional Tournament and squared off against Moody Bible Institute. Faith entered the game down two starting defenders and once again was left with the task of shuffling the lineup around. In addition, the Eagles came out a little flat and struggled in the first half to get into the flow of the game. As a result, a skilled Moody team took advantage to the tune of 4 first half goals.
Within the first ten minutes of the game, Daniel Martinez helped get Moody off to a fast start with two unassisted goals. Moody never looked back from there, scoring again in the 15th and 37th minute with goals by Dylan Matthews and Peter Bernstrom respectively. Faith responded in the second half with better energy and continuity but unfortunately broke down later in the half to allow two more goals by Alek Lewis and Stephen Nespor creating a 6-0 deficit. Moments after the 6th goal for Moody Faith did finally manage to put one away when Chase Clark capitalized on a break away to find the back of the net. Despite only being outshot 12-9 the final tally ended up being a 6-1 loss. Faith did have some quality chances at times but unfortunately were only able to convert on one.
"I don't think the performance we put out on the field today was representative of the season we've had and the team we have and I feel bad for the team as a whole that our season had to end this way. To the guys' credit they battled all the way until the end but it's unfortunate that we couldn't cap our season with our best performances."
