The Eagles came out strong against Calvary Bible College in their Midwest Christian College Conference quarterfinals match on Thursday, October 22nd. Faith was able score in the 11th minute as Joseph Frerichs took a direct kick from the edge of the 18 yard box before the goalkeeper was ready. Frerichs scored again three minutes later off an assist from Cole Glanzer. Glanzer was able to put the ball in the net in the 29th minute as he struck the ball first out of midair off a throw in by Chase Clark. The Eagles finished their first half scoring when Jason Scheps played the ball past three defenders inside the 18 yard box to Wes Schultz who shot it first touch with the outside of his foot for his first collegiate goal.
The Eagles made a lot of halftime changes but we're still able to find the net in the 57th minute when backup goalkeeper Jared DeNuei was able head the ball across the front of the goal where Joey Young put it in for his first career goal. Faith was able to preserve the shutout and get everyone considerable playing time leading up the their semifinal match up against #10 Manhattan Christian College Friday, October 23rd at 1:30pm.
