Hunkin Selected to All American Team
The NCCAA released their 2014 DII Men's Soccer American Team today. The Eagles Tui Hunkin was a 2nd Team selection, marking the first time since 2011 that the Eagles have had a men's soccer team member receive that accolade. Hunkin's selection to the All American Team completes an impressive freshmen campaign for the Eagle's midfielder.
Hunkin received several additional awards during the season. He was the Midwest Christian College Conference MVP, the NCCAA II North Central Region MVP, the Association of Christian College Athletics MVP, and the Eagle's team MVP. Hunkin helped lead the team to their first win over nationally ranked Providence University College in several years, helped the team vault into and then stay in the NCCAA Top 10 for the entire season, and led the team to a runner up finish at the ACCA National Championships. The team also finished as the conference runner up during the regular season, and earned a third place finish at the conference tournament. Hunkin finished the season in the top 20 in points and goals per game in the nation. He set the school record for fastest goal, scoring in 12 seconds off a kick off.
