The Eagle men travelled to Dubuque, IA, this past Tuesday to take on host Emmaus Bible College. Despite the driving rain the Eagles were able to control the game, winning 4-0. The victory improves Faith's record to 8-3-1 overall.
It took 25 minutes for Faith to find the net, but after a few near misses Andrew Young crossed a ball in that Joseph Frerichs put in. Five minutes later Josh Bray was able to head in a corner kick from Aaron Jones. Emmaus made a few runs at the Eagles defense but were unable to capitalize, leaving the game 2-0 at the break.
In the 57th minute Jones was able to serve in another perfect corner kick that Bray headed in for his fourth goal in the last two games, while Jones' assist was his team leading ninth. In the 81st minute Frerichs was able to dribble past several defenders to smash home his sixth goal of the year and end the game at 4-0. The Eagles outshot Emmaus 38-3 and goalkeeper David Levy was able to earn his second shutout of the year.
The Eagles now prepare for their final regular season games of the year this weekend at Calvary Bible College and Ozark Christian College. Wins in both games could earn the Eagles the #2 seed in the upcoming MCCC conference tournament, anything short of that could drop them as low as the #4 seed.
