The Eagle men dropped a hard fought game to visiting Barclay College Saturday in the second overtime. The loss drops Faith to 0-1-1 in the conference, and 3-1-1 overall.
Barclay controlled much of the game, but the Eagles were not without chances. However, the real story of the game for Faith was the defense, led by Freshman keeper David Levy. Levy recorded 11 saves as Barclay outshot the Eagles 33-5. After going scoreless during the first 90 minutes, Faith had a great opportunity to end the game on a penalty kick. However, Barclay's keeper made a fanatastic save to preserve the game for his team, and in the second OT, Barclay was awarded a free kick just outside the box. Barclay executed a set piece which resulted in forward Kingsley Assibey finishing a ball that was crossed in front of the Eagles net and just outside the reach of Levy for the game deciding goal.
Faith jumps back into conference action on Tuesday, September 15, at 5:00 PM versus Central Christian College of the Bible.
