Men Top St. Louis Christian
The Faith men's soccer team hosted St. Louis Christian in their final regular season home match. The Eagles struggled in regular season play in the past against St. Louis, as they had to rely on overtime wins the last two seasons. Faith came out ready to prevent a third let down against them as they scored in the second and third minutes to set the tone for the match.
The first goal was scored as defender Zach Peterson carried the ball from the half line past the entire defense to score his first goal of the year. A minute later defender Caleb Acree carried the ball down the touch line before serving in a cross that Dawson Barringer was able to put in the back of the net. In the 21st minute JJ Parkhurst was able to score his ninth goal of the year off a cross from David Mohler. Five minutes later defender Eric Young scored his first career goal off a deflection from near the edge of the 18 yard box. The Eagles led 4-0 at the half and were able to score their final goal five minutes into the second as Ryan Koch played a great switching ball that Barringer was able to put in the net. The Eagles out shot St. Louis 35-4 and goalkeeper Jason Scheps was able to record his sixth shutout of the season as they won 5-0.
