Playing their third game in four days, the Eagle men put up a valiant effort this past Monday afternoon as they hosted #1 Northland International University. After a scoreless first half, Northland's relentless pressure paid off, as they scored three goals in a span of 14 minutes to take the 3-0 victory. Faith drops to 4-5-0 on the year with the loss.
Northland controlled the game throughout, but the Eagles defense, anchored by keeper Jason Scheps, was able to repel the Northland attack throughout the first half. Northland outshot Faith 13-3 in the first half. With the wind at their backs in the second half, Northland continued to pressure the Faith defense, which held strong until the 51st minute. Northland struck again in the 63rd and 65th minute, before Faith was able to regain their composure for the remainder of the half. Northland outshot Faith 26-1 in the second half.
Despite the loss, Scheps played extremely well in the match, recording nine saves on the night. Faith is off until Friday, September 27, when they will host Emmaus Bible College in a 4:30 PM contest. Faith came out on top in the two team's first meeting.
