Men Make it Two in a Row, Defeat Conference Foe Calvary Bible
The Eagle men continued their rapid improvement on Saturday, giving the Homecoming crowd all they could ask for in a 6-0 victory over visiting Calvary Bible College. The win pulls Faith within one win of .500, at 2-3-0, and puts the Eagles at 1-2-0 in the conference.
Faith got things going fairly quickly, with JJ Parkhurst scoring off a nice header, with Eric Young recording the assist. Two minutes later Ryan Koch nailed a shot from 40 yds out past the Calvary keeper to give Faith a quick 2-0 lead. Faith continued to control the game, but couldn't penetrate the Warriors defense for the next 20 minutes. Koch changed that with his second goal of the half in the 32nd minute off an assist by Zach Peterson. Faith would maintain that 3-0 lead into the break. Parkhurst got things going offensively for the Eagles early in the second half, scoring his second goal of the game off an assist by Joshua Huang. Dawson Barringer netted a goal for the Eagles in the 59th minute off a penalty kick, and ten minutes later, David Mohler would score his first career goal, for the final 6-0 score for the Eagles. DawsonFaith spent the final 25 minutes getting everyone on the roster valuable game experience as the Eagles would give keeper Jason Scheps his second consecutive shut out with the 6-0 victory.
Faith doubled up Calvary in shots, with a 24-12 advantage, while Scheps recorded six saves in the game. Parkhurst and Koch provided most of the scoring punch for the Eagles with two goals apiece, while Mohler added his first career goal late in the game. Barringer added a goall off the PK. Huang finished with two assists, while defenders Eric Young and Zach Peterson each added an assist.
