The Eagle men fell to 6th ranked and region foe Providence University College today. The loss gives Faith the 3 seed in the region tournament to be held at the end of this month, and drops the Eagles to 6-9-0 overall.
Providence scored an early goal when a ball trickled through the Faith keepers hands to give Providence an early 1-0 lead. Providence got a second goal off a great shot from a direct kick just outside the box to lead 2-0 at the break. Providence outshot the Eagles 9-0 in the first half. Faith held strong for the first 25 minutes of the second half, before Providence scored three goals in the span of six minutes to put the game away for good. Keeper Michael Craig made an amazing stop on a Providence penalty kick as the Eagles dropped the game 5-0.
Faith hits the road this weekend for a pair of conference games. Faith plays at Ozark Christian on Friday and at Calvary Bible on Saturday. The outcome of those games will determine where Faith falls in conference play and what seed they will get at the conference tournament next week.
