Buena Vista Tops Eagle Men

The Eagle men fought hard but came up short this afternoon in their match with Buena Vista University. Faith fell by a final of 0-3, and is now 2-6-0 on the year.

Faith played well for parts of each half, but continued to have problems putting together 90 minutes of good soccer. Buena Vista controlled much of the possession throughout the game, with their pressure garnering a penalty kick in the first half. BVU put that shot into the goal for a 1-0 halftime lead. The Yellowjackets increased their pressure in the second half, cracking the Eagle defense for their second goal 57 minutes in. Had it not been for All Region keeper Michael Craig's great play in front of the net, the margin would have been much worse. Craig faced 23 shots, and recorded 20 saves to keep the Eagles in the game. Buena Vista netted their final goal late in the game for the 3-0 final. Faith was outshot 36-3 in the game, including 22-0 in the second half.

Faith get's one day off before returning to action this Saturday when they will host Lincoln Christian University in a 4:00 PM match at home.
