Mistakes Costly in Loss to Grace University

The men's soccer team dropped a close contest to Grace University this past Thursday. The 2-1 loss drops the Eagles to 1-4 on the season.

Faith was the dominant team for much of the first half, creating several scoring opportunities that they just couldn't finish, or were turned away by the Grace keeper. Late in the half, Grace took advantage of a misplayed ball by the Eagles defense, as they went up 1-0 on the Eagles. In the second half, Grace controlled play for much of the half and again cracked the Eagles defense to take a 2-0 lead. Faith finally got on the board when JJ Parkurst found the back of the net off a set piece. Alex Clark played the ball in off a direct kick and Parkhurst got his head on the ball to pull within one. From then on, Faith played more aggressively, creating several more opportunities, while keeper Michael Craig produced several saves, but the Eagles could not find the equalizer, falling 1-2.

Faith has a quick turn around as they will face #3 Manhattan Christian College for homecoming on Saturday. That game will tip at 3 PM.
