Eagles Cruise Through Weekend Home Stand

On Friday night, the Eagles hosted the Conquerors from Free Lutheran Bible College. The previous matchup this year vs the Conquerors, the Eagles won handily so this matchup allowed Faith to rest their starters for the next night's conference matchup. 

The Eagles picked right up where they left off the last time they played the Conquerors and jumped out to an early lead. The Conquerors fought hard and hung around and went into halftime trailing 38-16. The 2nd half the Eagles opened things up and dominated the Conquerors on both sides of the ball. In the end, the Eagles forced the Conquerors into 47 turnovers, 27% shooting from the field and defeated the Conquerors 82-28. 

Caleb Bennett led the way with 23 points and 14 rebounds, Garrett Pearson chipped in 16 points and 11 rebounds, Josiah Brabson had 17 points and 12 steals, and Ron Keach added 13 points and 9 rebounds. 

The next day Faith faced the Saints from Central Christian College of the Bible. The Eagles were well rested and ready for the Saints. The 1st half was a back and forth battle as neither team could seem to pull away. The Eagles had the slight edge going into halftime 37-35.  The 2nd half was all Faith, as they put in an impressive defensive performance, holding the Saints to 29% from the field and only 22 second half points. The Eagles also got some much needed scoring from their bench including 16 points from Josh Baucum and 8 points apiece from Parker Lundberg and Trey Ashley. In the end, the Eagles cruised to a 75-57 victory. Mason Gorsh led all scorers with 23 points. 

These two victories pushed the Eagles to 9-7 (3-2 in MCCC play). The Eagles next contest is this Tuesday at home against Emmaus University at 6pm CST.
