LINCOLN, Nebraska—Six freshmen combined for 80 of Faith's 86 points in an 86-71 win over Union College Monday night, boosting their record to 12-9 overall.
Faith freshman Nathan Keck continued his late season surge leading all players with 28 points and 16 rebounds. 15 of those points and 9 of those rebounds came in the first half as the Eagles built an eight-point lead. Faith never trailed in the ballgame.
The Eagles shot a very respectable 52.2 percent for the game but were just 5-of-19 from three-point distance and 11-of-20 from the free-throw line. Faith outrebounded the Warriors 48-32.
Four freshmen scored in double figures for the Eagles, led by Keck's 28 points. He was followed by Jayce Goergen with 16, Noah Boyer with 13 (career high), and Simon Allen with 11 (career high). Jaeden Gerig added 8, and Sam Carstensen added 4 to round out the freshmen scoring.
Faith travels to Haviland, Kansas, on Friday for an 8:00 p.m. tip against Barclay College (11-12).
