Eagles Rout Union College for Third Straight Win
ANKENY, Iowa—The Faith Eagles connected for 11 three-pointers and played solid defense in a casual 36-point win over Union College, 81-45. It was the third straight victory for Faith (8-5), who earned a top ten ranking in the most recent NCCAA Division II poll, which came out Tuesday afternoon. The Eagles are ranked tenth in the nation.
Jason Conable continued his hot shooting from beyond the arc, connecting on all three of his three-point attempts. Conable was 5-of-6 from the field, leading the team with 13 points. The Eagles never trailed in the game after jumping to an early 9-0 lead.
The Eagles used their size and strength inside to their advantage, outrebounding the Warriors 70-30. Faith's bench played a significant role as well, outscoring Union's bench 36-13. Brett Larson had a career-high 12 points for the Eagles, followed by Sam Carstensen with 8, Alex Owens with 5, Jaeden Gerig with 4, Noah Boyer with 3, and Chase Clark and Simon Allen with 2 each. Every player scored for Faith.
Faith returns to action on Friday with a game against Calvary University (4-4) at (approximately) 7:30 p.m. The game follows the conclusion of the gym dedication, which falls between the women's and men's games.
