OVERLAND PARK, Kansas—The Faith Eagles concluded their season on Monday, February 18, with a matchup against the Kansas Christian Falcons, who are ranked #5 in the nation. Earlier this month, the Eagles lost to the Falcons 119-61 at home.
The Eagles struggled to rebound and maintain possession of the ball in the first half as they had just 13 rebounds to the Falcons' 27. The Eagles kept up with the Falcons for the first few minutes of the game, tying the score at 6, before the Falcons went on a 10-0 run to bring the score to 16-6 five minutes into the game. The Falcons' quick hands grabbed 13 steals that they converted into 12 points in the first half, assisting in a 53-31 halftime score.
The Eagles continued to fight in the second half, but their efforts could not keep up with the offense of the Falcons, who connected on 23 of 46 shots and grabbed 10 offensive rebounds in the second half alone. The Eagles shot 42% from the field in the second half, assisting on 9 of 16 made shots, including four 3-pointers. Despite shooting better than their season average, the Eagles ultimately fell to the Falcons 104-68.
Three Eagles players scored in double digits, and over half the team put up 8 or more points. The well-rounded effort was led by Daniel Guess with 14 points, while Cole Glanzer had a season-high 13 points to go along with 7 assists and 7 rebounds. Micah Stinson had 12 points. Tanner Van Beek narrowly missed a double-double with 8 points and 9 rebounds, while Jason Conable contributed 9 points and 3 assists. Christian Brown also had 8 points.
This was the last game of the season for the Eagles, who finished with a record of 6-17, 0-8 in conference play.
