ANKENY, Iowa—In their first game in nearly a week, the Eagles fell to the Trinity Bible College Lions, who shot 51.6% from the field and forced 22 turnovers.
The game started a little rough for the Eagles, who found themselves at an early 11-3 deficit. A 7-0 run, fueled by Micah Stinson and Sam Pedersen gave the Eagles their first lead of the game, 19-18, midway through the first half. After falling back behind by six, the Eagles rallied again to take a 38-36 lead into halftime.
The lead changed hands multiple times throughout the first twelve minutes of the second half with neither team able to gain more than a five-point lead. Baskets from Pedersen and Sidlinger cut the Lions' lead to 74-70 with just over a minute left. Unfortunately for the Eagles, they were unable to score again, and the Lions ended the game with a 7-0 run to win 81-70.
Two Eagles contributed double-doubles. Chase Clark had 15 points and 20 rebounds—his fourth double-double this season, while Micah Stinson had his second career double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Sam Pedersen led the Eagles in scoring with 19 points. Tanner Van Beek also scored in double digits with 15 points and 8 rebounds.
