ST. BONIFACIUS, Minnesota—The Faith Eagles men's basketball team saw its record dip below .500 for the first time this season following a 99-52 loss to Crown College (3-2) in the first game of a two-game road trip to the Twin Cities.
Crown scored the first basket of the game and never trailed. Their first six baskets were all layups, with two of those baskets coming off of Faith turnovers. Faith shot just 33.3% from the field in the first half (0-7 from three) and gave up 53 points defensively, while Crown shot just over 55% from the floor and connected on 7-19 three-pointers on their way to a 53-27 halftime lead.
The Eagles' shooting woes continued into the second half as Faith shot just 23.1%. Turnovers were a huge factor in the game as Crown turned 21 Faith turnovers into 29 easy points and the Eagles were outscored 38-2 on fast break points.
Chase Clark was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 11 points off the bench. He was also the team leader in rebounds with 8.
Faith (2-3) returns to action Saturday afternoon with a game at North Central University (3-4).
