The Faith Eagles' regular season came to a close on Saturday after hosting Kansas Christian College out of Overland Park, KS. The second meeting between the two teams this season provided the same result as the first, with Kansas Christian defeating the Eagles 86-64.
The Falcons wasted no time before jumping out to a 21-8 lead. Even though Faith made a push to get back to within two, 27-25, at the eight-minute mark, five straight turnovers by the Eagles prevented them from moving closer and gave KCC their chance to pull away. With a 49-34 lead at the beginning of the second half, the Falcons came out of the break just as they started the game, opening on a 9-2 run over Faith. The Eagles spent the rest of the game trying to keep Kansas Christian from extending their already significant lead. KCC's 86-64 victory marked the end of Faith's regular season.
Tanner Van Beek and Sam Pedersen were the frontrunners in scoring for Faith with 13 and 12 points respectively. Keaton Pearson also chipped in 11 points and 7 rebounds, while Jason Conable gave the Eagles 10 more rebounds coming off the bench.
Faith will now enter postseason play, starting with the MCCC Conference Tournament, which is hosted by Manhattan Christian College (Manhattan, KS). Coming in as the #7 seed, the Eagles will matchup with #2 seeded Barclay College on Thursday, February 15.
