Eagle's Sign Chariton's Willie Felderman
Chariton, IA. — Faith Baptist Bible College head men's basketball coach Brian Fincham on Friday announced the signing of Willie Felderman for the 2014-15 season. Felderman is the first member of the Eagles' 2014 recruiting class.
Felderman, a 6'-5" All South Central Conference forward from Chariton High School in Chariton, IA., was a two-year starter at the forward position for the Chargers, helping them to the school's first trip to the State tournament in 42 years. Willie finished his senior season 1st in the South Central Conference in blocked shots (5th among all Iowa 3A high schools), 4th in the conference in rebounds, and 8th in scoring. The Chargers went 37-11 during Felderman's two years as a starter including a 21-4 finish to their 2013-2014 campaign.
"Willie is just a solid all-around player," Fincham said. "He does all the little things. Does a nice job on the offensive glass, is a solid defender, and plays with a lot of energy. We're fortunate to have him attend Faith. "
Felderman is a multi-sport athlete. In addition to his success on the basketball court, he was an all-conference tennis selection and the tennis team captain. Willie also plays on the Chargers soccer team.
He is active in several music ensembles for Chariton High, and was the recipient of the Urich Music Scholarship. Willie plans to major in Secondary Education – English while attending Faith.
