Eagles Basketball adds Nathan Meinders from West Fork, Sheffield
6-4 forward averaged 9.6 points and 4.5 rebounds as a senior
ANKENY, Iowa--The Faith Eagles added another versatile piece to its 2018-19 roster this weekend with the commitment of Nathan Meinders, a 6-4 forward from West Fork High School in Sheffield, Iowa.
Meinders was part of a Warhawks program that went 80-17 the last four seasons, appearing in back-to-back substate games. West Fork finished 19-6 his senior season, winning 13 straight prior to its season-ending loss to Don Bosco in the substate final.
Nathan was the third-leading scorer and rebounder for West Fork in 2018. He averaged 9.6 points and 4.5 rebounds per game, shooting 51% from the floor. He also led his team in blocked shots with 15. His inside presence helped balance a perimeter-oriented team that broke the school record for the most three-pointers made in one season.
Meinders won several awards with the West Fork program, including Most Improved and the Sixth Man of the Year Award.
He is the son of Chris and Joy Meinders and he hopes to bring energy, leadership, and scoring to the Eagles roster.
