High scoring forward Christian Brown commits to Eagles
ANKENY, Iowa--The Faith Eagles received a commitment from the 4th all-time leading scorer at New Life Christian School in Hamilton, New York on Monday.
Christian Brown, a 6-4 forward, scored over 1,000 career points during his four-year high school career. As a senior, Brown filled the stat sheets, averaging 15.0 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game and led his team to a 20-4 record.
Brown adds instant scoring to an Eagles roster that, at times, struggled offensively last season. Faith Coach Brian Fincham says Christian's ability to put the ball in the basket addresses an area of need for next year's team.
Christian's high school coach was his brother, Paul Brown, who also played at Faith. He is the son of Frank and Vanessa Brown.
In addition to numerous basketball awards, Christian also earned the President's Award and was a high honor roll student at New Life Christian School.
Brown attended Faith's Scholarship Weekend and committed to the Eagles following his visit to campus and his workout with the Faith coaching staff. He plans to major in pastoral training.
"I'm thankful to God for the opportunity to play sports for a Christian school and to take my next step in my walk with Christ," said Brown.
