Gamboe Commits to Eagles
The Faith women's basketball team added an experienced perimeter player to their 2018-19 roster with junior transfer Loretta Gamboe. Gamboe, a 5-7 guard, played her previous three seasons at Grace University in Omaha, Nebraska.
Gamboe adds instant, veteran leadership to a young and talented Eagles team that returns 80% of its scoring next season. The Eagles had four freshmen who averaged at least five points per game during their 11-13 campaign, winning five of their last seven contests.
Loretta played in thirty of thirty-one games this past season at Grace, scoring a career-high ten points against Central Christian College. She connected on 15 of 46 three-point baskets and started two games for the Royals during her junior season. She was named the Most Improved Player for the 2015-16 season.
"I am excited for the opportunity to finish my degree at a school with a solid basketball program and a young team," said Gamboe. "I'm looking forward to enjoying my senior season with a coach and players who care and I hope to bring leadership and mental toughness to the team."
Loretta is originally from Thornton, Colorado. She is the daughter of Bruce and Lori Gamboe and plans to major in Biblical Studies with a minor in Communications.
